Stage-a-Play After School Camp
✔ Multiple days: 5 days – 3 weeks
✔ Grades 3-12
✔ Students put on a play! We cut a version of a Shakespeare play, cast it, rehearse it, and bring all the theatre trappings (lights, sound, costumes) to stage it.

$200 Base
- Additional charges may apply for groups of 50+ and sessions longer than 90 minutes.
Stage-a-Play After School Camp
$750 Base
- One week, up to 12 students
- Additional charges may apply for groups of 12+, longer plays/rehearsal time.

What Students Will Learn
Mastering Shakespeare’s Language
Students will break down Shakespeare’s text and make it sound natural and engaging, which will help develop public speaking and communication skills.
Acting & Performance Skills
From movement to voice projection, students will learn foundational acting skills that they can use to be more authentically themselves.
Theatre Production Experience
Hands-on learning with staging, blocking, and character development, learning how to collaborate in a constructive and respectful way.
Teamwork & Collaboration
Theatre is a group effort. Students will learn to trust their fellow actors and build an ensemble, working together towards a common goal.
Meet Your Teaching Artists
Chris Canfield
Chris is the founding artistic director of The Boise Bard Players. Apart from running the company, Chris also has extensive teaching experience, especially with Dakotah Brown at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Chris has also been a public school theatre teacher. He holds a Masters in Teaching and a Bachelors in Theatre Arts from Boise State University.
Dakotah Brown
Dakotah is a founding member of The Boise Bard Players and is a consummate teaching artist. He has taught for the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, Boise Contemporary Theater, and Hall International Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of California, Santa Barbara.
